Meet the instructors

Sarah Sheps

Casting Associate

Sarah is Casting Associate at Mann Casting. She is a proud member of the Casting Directors Society of Canada and has been in the business for over 10 years. She is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Music Theatre program and spent time touring Canada, the US and Europe with many children’s shows including Strawberry Shortcake Live, Dora the Explorer and Franklin the Turtle. She is extremely passionate about Toronto’s talent and hopes to be casting them forever. Her greatest accomplishment to date is the birth of her baby boy Henry!

Daniel Falks

Actors & Casting Associate

Daniel is an actor and writer based in Toronto. On TV: October Faction(Netflix), Mary Kills People(Global), Designated Survivor(ABC), Murdoch Mysteries(CBC), Good God(HBO), Killjoys(Space). In Film: Stockholm with Ethan Hawke, and Christmas Parade for Hallmark. He is also one of Canada’s busiest commercial actors, having appeared in over 30 spots in the last four years. He’s also appeared on stage at theatres across Canada including in Billy Bishop Goes to War(RuBarb Prod.), Blood Brothers (1000 Islands Playhouse), Rich(MTYP), As You Like It(CanadianStage). He has written and produced several short films and and co-wrote the musical Funny Business, which ran in Toronto for five months and has since seen productions at theatres around the world. He has also been a regular contributor for McSweeney's, and published his first book, Getting a Head about his time touring the world in various children’s theatre productions. When he isn’t running around to auditions he works at Mann Casting directing commercial audition sessions, and has led commercial audition technique workshops at several ACTRA conferences, and for a variety of Ontario colleges and agencies.

  • Do I have to be a part of Mode Elle to participate?

    Everyone is welcome! We are excited to see Mode Elle students participate and welcome new students as well! If you are someone who is interested in learning more about Mode Elle after the camp, you can book an appointment to learn more about the activities and services we offer throughout the year!

  • How will I prepare for this workshop?

    Every student will be given a script to practice ahead of the workshop to perform and work with. As well as, a mock self-tape to attempt at home before viewing with Sarah & Dan for feedback.

  • What if I don't have any experience in acting?

    No experience necessary! This is a learning opportunity for any aspiring actors looking to get more knowledge, training, and professional advice in the industry.
